Movie Synopsis for THE FURIOUS 2026

The Furious is a bone-crunching, high-octane martial arts action thriller directed by legendary action choreographer Kenji Tanigaki. The film follows Wang Wei (played by Xie Miao), a humble, mute tradesman with a deeply mysterious past. When his beloved young daughter, Rainy, is brutally abducted off the street by a ruthless, international child-trafficking syndicate, Wang Wei is thrust into a dark, unforgiving underworld. Facing a wall of institutional apathy and corrupt police forces, he realizes he must take matters into his own hands and goes on an absolute rampage to get her back.
On his blood-soaked warpath, Wang Wei crosses paths with Navin (played by Joe Taslim), a relentless, hard-hitting journalist whose own wife mysteriously vanished while investigating the very same criminal network. Recognizing a shared enemy and an identical thirst for vengeance, the unlikely duo forms a volatile, unstoppable alliance. Together, they must fight their way through an endless gauntlet of sadistic killers, heavily armed thugs, and elite martial artists—including dangerous henchmen played by action icons Yayan Ruhian and Brian Le.
Earning comparisons to genre masterpieces like The Raid and Taken, The Furious strips away narrative fluff to deliver pure, kinetic adrenaline. The film is celebrated for its grounded, hyper-violent choreography, utilizing everything from improvised tools like hammers to claustrophobic cage matches to showcase the cast's incredible athleticism. At its core, however, The Furious is a deeply emotional story driven by a father's primal instinct to protect his family. It is a relentless, bone-breaking masterclass in modern action cinema that keeps audiences hooked from the first punch to the final, bloody showdown.
