A Million Ways to Die in the West – Official Trailer 2014

The idea of Seth MacFarlane and his brand of humor combining with the Western genre isn’t something that comes to mind when considering an idea for a feature film. But that is what Seth MacFarlane has chosen for his follow-up to his hit comedy Ted.
A Million Ways to Die in the West will feature Seth MacFarlane in the starring role and will feature Academy Award winner Charlize Theron and critically acclaimed actors Liam Neeson and Giovanni Ribisi. Rounding out the cast are Sarah Silverman, Amanda Seyfried and Neil Patrick Harris.
Based on the trailer this looks like a great mix. Sure it’s a bit silly, as well as raunchy, but it works. It’s not the first time the Old West has been used as a comedic setting. Back to the Future III, as well as Blazing Saddles spring to mind.
The question will be if audiences will take the premise. Judging from the success of Macfarlane’s previous film Ted, it’s a good bet it will.
If people will line up for a talking teddy bear, they shouldn’t have any problem with toilet humor in the Old West.
A Million Ways to Die in the West stars Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson, Giovvanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris. The film is written by Seth MacFarlane, Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. A Million Ways to Die is directed by Seth MacFarlane. It is scheduled for release May 30th, 2014.
