21 Jump Street 2012 Movie Trailer

I’m not sure what the motivation was behind the movie version for 21 Jump Street. It’s not exactly a property that screams for a movie adaptation. As a Television show, it was a mediocre hit. One of the first shows on the Fox Network. But the show did have a cult following as well as a spin-off and most notably helped to launch the career of Johnny Depp. Whatever the case, coming in 2012 is the movie version for the film. My initial reaction to the very funny trailer is that it looks like a LOT of fun. The movie definitely milks the absurdity of the premise. Seeing Ice Cube as the police captain is just too hilarious. I also enjoy watching Jonah Hill flex his comedic muscles. Channing Tatum is surprisingly funny too. Overall, this red band trailer looks like a lot of fun. I expect the marketing to capitalize on the brand, but still put a funny spin on the new material. It looks like Holly Robinson Peete has scored a role in the film, (look for a quick peek in the trailer) and rumors are that Johnny Depp will also be making a cameo appearance in the film. CAN’T WAIT for that!

21 Jump Street stars Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ice Cube. 21 Jump Street is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. It scheduled for release March 16, 2012.
