The movie Like Crazy earned the Grand Jury Prize for dramatic film as well as a special Grand Jury prize for acting for Felicity Jones at The 2011 Sundance Film festival. With such impressive accolades one would think potential audiences would of heard more about the project. But the media campaign for the film has remained relatively quiet. Rather than marketing the film as a mainstream film, Paramount Vantage, the independent film wing of Paramount pictures is handling the release.
Romance on film is rare in Hollywood. Legitimate romance that is. Not the cheesy romantic comedies that have flooded the market. Although the plot of Like Crazy is simple, there is alot of potential for sincere drama if done right.
I think Anton Yelchin is an interesting actor to watch. I especially enjoyed his work in Star Trek and Terminator: Salvation. I also like the work of Jennifer Lawrence, who was brilliant in Winter’s Bone. So I’ll be interested in checking the film out.
