Young Adult – 2011 Movie Trailer

On the heels of Cameron Diaz hilarious turn as an irresponsible adult in Bad Teacher comes the dark comedy Young Adult starring Charlize Theron. The film comes from the witty minds of Juno creators, writer Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman. This trailer looks like a lot of fun. Being a fan of  this brand of inappropriate comedy, I’m expecting great things. The short trailer definitely delivers some good laughs. It is, however, a little jarring to see Esquire’s sexiest woman alive, Charlize Theron, beg for companionship. One would think that someone of her character’s stature wouldn’t have a problem finding a romantic partner, whether she’s socially inept & shallow or not. But hey…this is a movie right? It’s also fun seeing Patton Oswalt in this kind of sarcastic comedy. I’m expecting lots of laughs, hopefully not too much sentimental silliness. It’s also a little curious that the film is being released during awards season. Are they hoping for the same kind of award season magic that the quirky film Juno captured?

Young Adult stars Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson and Patton Oswalt. The film is directed by Jason Reitman and is written by Diablo Cody. Young Adult is scheduled for release December 9th, 2011.

Official Synopsis:
